Role Title - New Business Consultant – Financial Planning & Wealth
Salary to £55,000 OTE £80,000 + Share Options
Home-based with some travel

Role Overview

The New Business Consultant will generate new licence subscriptions of our client's award-winning and market-leading Financial Vulnerability app from the financial services market, predominantly from IFAs, networks, Wealth managers, Mortgage Brokers, and Later life lending brokers.

You'll be a blend of hunter/farmer, focusing on securing new clients with experience managing commercial partnerships and growing an introducer network.

You'll be familiar with the financial planning intermediary sector and able to identify and target financial planning and wealth management firms across the UK to secure new subscriptions and increase license penetration. This will be a predominantly telephone/video sales-based role. Inbound leads will also be provided through marketing activity and growing partnerships (which you will manage).

You will be selling the leading solution to a critical regulatory problem most firms face: identifying vulnerable clients consistently and objectively. The firms can also sleep well at night, knowing they provide a high-impact solution supporting vulnerable people.

You'll have the support of a growing marketing function and sales team (teamwork and collaboration are vital values), not to mention the CEO, who is also an experienced Sales Director. Over time, there will also be the opportunity to move into more enterprise-level SaaS sales.

This is a hybrid role, predominantly working from home. However, you will travel to the London office several times a month to join team meetings and benefit from interacting with other members of this growing business (not to mention a social or two). The office is near Aldgate tube station and provides free access to a gym and lounge bar (not to mention great coffee and regular events).

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Outbound telephone and email activity to generate interest in our financial vulnerability assessment App.
  • Carry out teams-based sales appointments with decision makers in target firms.
  • Close sales and secure subscriptions from firms (based on monthly licence fee model)
  • Manage existing partnerships and identify and secure new partners, predominantly from compliance firms.
  • Attend industry events as and when required (may include overnight stays)
  • Develop and maintain a solid understanding of financial vulnerability and what firms must do to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Keep all sales activity recorded on the CRM platform (HubSpot) and abide by sales processes.
  • Work alongside the marketing and client support teams to provide a best-in-class service to existing clients.

Required/Preferred Skills

  • Previous B2B new business sales experience in the financial services intermediary market.
  • Proven track record of delivering against sales targets (and ideally smashing them)
  • Account management experience working with specific teams in larger organisations is preferred.
  • A high understanding of the FS intermediary market, especially the IFA, Financial Planning and Wealth Management.
  • Good working knowledge of regulatory requirements for FCA reg firms, including consumer duty required.
  • Understanding financial vulnerability is beneficial.
  • Technology/license-based sales experience would be a bonus but not vital.
  • Good general IT skills (you are selling a tech solution)

Salary and benefits

  • Base salary up to £55k (OTE £80k, uncapped)
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • 5% employees' pension contribution
  • Health Cash Plan
  • Cycle to work scheme.
  • Inclusion in Sales Bonus Scheme (payable quarterly)
  • Share Option Scheme

The Company

They are a fast-growing business with big ideas and are looking for key team members who can grow with them on their journey. They want people who will get the same buzz they do from working in an ever-changing business.

They combine mental health clinical expertise with class-leading tech to ensure firms can identify and support those who are vulnerable or lack mental capacity. They do this through their groundbreaking clinically backed assessments (that have received global recognition from the leading psychology industry body) that can be deployed through a web app or API's. They operate in the Financial Services, legal and care home sectors, with other sectors such as the NHS, Utilities, and online gambling on the roadmap. Any industry that might have vulnerable clients should be identified and supported.

Since launching in May 2022, they have become the leading provider of financial vulnerability assessment software in the financial services sector and have over 580 FCA-regulated firms using their software regularly. They also partner with several of the leading organisations in the industry, including trade bodies and even the regulator, through the FCA Innovation Hub program.

If you are looking for a business with a social impact and conscience that has at its core the mission to help vulnerable people who might otherwise go unidentified and unsupported, this could be the opportunity for you.

The successful candidate will also be expected to attend industry events and conferences across the UK as and when required.
