Ostriches don't bury their heads in the sand

3 January 2020

Ostriches don't bury their heads in the sand—they wouldn't be able to breathe!

When an ostrich senses danger and cannot run away, it flops to the ground and remains still, with its head and neck flat on the ground in front of it.

The Candidate:

OK, so I cant use this term to explain why candidates who for reasons unknown just drop out and disappear from a recruitment process.

It doesn't happen often but when it does it remains a mystery.

A candidate is fully engaged in the recruitment process, communicating, attending interviews and providing feedback and receiving an offer, then..................

Yep, nothing, nada, no calls, emails, SMS or WhatsApp returned.

Now we all know on WhatsApp 2 grey ticks means your message was received and 2 blue ticks mean it has been read.

Conclusion:

Please, please candidates don't think that burying your head in the sand will make you disappear!
